Clocking Miles

Stop telling people: “miles is miles.” It does matter where you clock your miles if you want to live this facet of your life to its full potential. If all you want to do is post up at your local Fat Burger joint or biker bar every weekend and stare at the same faces all day, then knock yourself out.

I ain’t mad at you and I’m not judging you for limiting your biker experience to the bar hoping scene. However, never discourage someone else from exploring their own country. Hundreds of millions of people from around the world leave their continents to visit attractions around the United States every year.

Too many of us know very little to nothing about the land we live on and share with 240 million other people. The United States is the most topographically and culturally diverse country in the world. To a certain extent you don’t really have to leave the United States to get a multicultural experience.

You can get a taste of what the rest of the world is like right here in your own country, and you don’t need a passport, a travel visa or an immunization card to enjoy it. To those of you who have the inclination to explore beyond your actual and perceived boundaries I encourage you to push the envelope.

Ride as far as your will to live can take you. Here’s the elephant in the room—Everyone isn’t ‘out to get you’ just because you’re by yourself. There are a lot of people out there who are just as curious, open minded and interesting as you are. You will come to find that people around this planet have more in common than they have differences. Get out there and enjoy the world. Ride as far and long as your heart, mind and wallet can take you.
